Refined Hair was founded by Tammy Kirkwood, who understands the personal side of hair loss and wanted to build something more supportive than a standard salon. She and her team focus on listening first and creating solutions suited to each person.

Tammy Kirkwood
Owner & Founder
Tammy leads Refined Hair, which she purchased in 2024 after experiencing these services herself and seeing the difference they made. She keeps the studio a supportive place where people feel heard and can rediscover their confidence. Her approach is grounded in compassion, empathy, and discretion, and she listens closely to each client’s story to create solutions suited to the individual. Outside the studio, Tammy loves traveling with her husband and time with their two children and their dogs. Animal rescue is close to her heart, and she serves on the board of Austin Boxer Rescue and fosters dogs whenever she can.
Leandra
Hair Replacement Specialist
A West Texas native and Paul Mitchell honors graduate, Leandra brings seven years of experience specializing in hair replacement to Refined Hair. She has worked at well-known Austin salons, including Urban Betty, and is driven by helping people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Away from work, she is a devoted cat lover with a soft spot for iced coffee and Halloween, and she enjoys creative projects and time with her fiancé and friends.
Miriam
Salon Assistant
Miriam keeps the studio running smoothly. She supports the stylists, prepares and maintains hair systems, and makes sure every work area is clean, organized, and welcoming. Detail-oriented and dependable, she keeps tools and supplies ready so each appointment feels calm and unhurried, and she continues to build her knowledge and skills in the beauty industry. Family, faith, and compassion matter deeply to her. She enjoys time with her husband and family, has two dogs, is active in her church community, and strives to live with kindness, purpose, and gratitude.
Taylor
Color and Scalp Health
Taylor is an Austin-based hairstylist, makeup artist, and colorist with more than eight years of experience. A graduate of the Aveda Institute of New Orleans, she began her career surrounded by artistry and makeup, then developed her skills in leading salons and expanded into fashion, film, and theater. At Refined Hair, she focuses on hair color, hair replacement, and scalp health, combining artistry with care to help clients feel like themselves again. She enjoys reading, writing, and creating art, and she loves Halloween all year round.

Receptionist
Regina welcomes clients and keeps the studio experience smooth, personal, and unhurried from the first hello. Her full bio is coming soon.
